Welcome to Hommert Central Nature Photography
This website is dedicated to birds found in the ABA Region of North America, which is essentially North America north of Mexico plus Hawaii. Specifically, the area encompassed is the 49 continental United States, Hawaii, Canada, the French islands of St. Pierre et Miquelon, and adjacent waters to a distance of 200 miles from land or half the distance to a neighboring country, whichever is less. Excluded by these boundaries are Bermuda, the Bahamas and Greenland.
My goal is to photograph all birds that have been recorded in that Region (a goal which I acknowledge I will never achieve). As a result, some of these images are what I call "doc shots" (i.e., poor quality but good enough to identify the bird). In addition, some of the birds featured here are found in the ABA Region but the photos have been taken outside of the region.

To search for an image of a bird, type its name in "Search Form" to the right (e.g., American Avocet). This will take you to the gallery. Or you can also choose a gallery under "Galleries" in the menu bar on top (e.g., Avocets). I hope you enjoy.
